Phasing down of Hydrofluorocarbons or HFCs can help reduce global temperature increase of 0.5oC by the end of the century. Realising the importance of the Montreal Protocol (MP), parties to the Montreal Protocol agreed during the 28th Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol (MOP 28) during October 10-14, 2016, in Kigali, Rwanda, with the outcome of Kigali Amendment to phase down of HFCs. Parties are to ratify the Kigali Amendment.
